Nonparametric Hypothesis Testing in Longitudinal Biostatistics: Assignment Help Notes
Biostatistics plays an important role in medical science and healthcare especially through observational studies involving specific health issues and their prevalence, risk factors and outcomes over a period of time. These studies involve longitudinal data in evaluating patients’ response to certain treatments and analyzing how specific risks evolve within a population over time. Hypothesis testing is crucial in ascertaining whether the observed patterns in the longitudinal data are statistically significant or not.
Although conventional parametric methods are largely used but they are not appropriate to real world scenarios due to the underlying assumptions such as normality, linearity and homoscedasticity. On the other hand, the nonparametric hypothesis testing remains a viable option for use since it doesn’t impose rigid assumptions on data distribution, particularly when dealing with complicated longitudinal data sets. However, students tend to face difficulties in nonparametric hypothesis testing due to the involvement of complex mathematical and statistical concepts and they often get confused while selecting the appropriate method for a specific dataset.
Tumblr media
Let’s discuss about nonparametric hypothesis testing in detail.
What is Nonparametric Hypothesis Testing?
Hypothesis testing is aimed at determining whether the findings that are obtained from a given sample can be generalized to the larger population. The traditional parametric techniques such as t-test or analysis of variance (ANOVA) assumes normal data distributions with specific parameters such as mean and variance defining the population.
On the other hand, nonparametric hypothesis testing procedures make no assumption about the data distribution. Instead, it relies on ranks, medians, or other distribution-free approaches. This makes nonparametric tests particularly advantageous where the data do not meet the assumptions of a parametric test for example skewed distributions, outliers, or a non-linear association.
Common examples of nonparametric tests include:
Mann-Whitney U Test: For comparing two independent samples.
Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test: For comparing two related samples.
Kruskal-Wallis Test: For comparing more than two independent samples.
Friedman Test: For comparing more than two related samples.
In longitudinal biostatistics, the data collected are usually measured over time, which complicates things further. The dependencies between repeated measures at different time points can violate parametric test assumptions, making nonparametric methods a better choice for many studies.
The Importance of Longitudinal Data
Longitudinal data monitors same subjects over time and serves valuable information for examining change in health outcomes. For instance, one might monitor a sample of patients with diabetes to discover how their blood sugar levels changed following commencement of new medication. Such data differs from cross-sectional data that only captures one time point.
The main difficulty of longitudinal data is the need to account for the correlation between repeated measurements. Measurements from the same subjects are usually similar as compared to measurements from different subjects, they can be treated as independent in the case of parametric tests.
Nonparametric Tests for Longitudinal Data
There are a number of nonparametric tests used to handle longitudinal data.
1. The Friedman Test:
This represents a nonparametric substitute for repeated-measures ANOVA. This is applied when you have information from the same subjects measured at various time periods. The Friedman test assigns ranks to the data for each time point and then measures whether there is a significant difference in the ranks across those time points.
Example:
Just imagine a dataset wherein three unique diets are under evaluation, at three separate time points, for a single group of patients. You are able to apply the Friedman test in python to assess if there is a major difference in health outcomes between the diets across time.
from scipy.stats import friedmanchisquare
# Sample data: each row represents a different subject, and each column is a time point
data = [[68, 72, 70], [72, 78, 76], [60, 65, 63], [80, 85, 83]]
# Perform the Friedman test
stat, p_value = friedmanchisquare(data[0], data[1], data[2], data[3])
print(f"Friedman Test Statistic: {stat}, P-Value: {p_value}")
It will furnish the Friedman test statistic as well as a p-value that conveys whether the difference are statistically significant.
2. The Rank-Based Mixed Model (RMM):
The Friedman test is quite effective with simple repeated measures, but it becomes less useful as longitudinal structures become more complex (e.g., unequal time points, missing data). The advanced method known as the rank-based mixed model can handle more complex scenarios. The RMMs differ from the Friedman test in that they are a mix of nonparametric and mixed models, providing flexible handling of random effects and the correlation between repeated measures.
Unfortunately, RMMs involve a range of complexities that typically need statistical software such as R or SAS for computation. Yet, their flexibility regarding longitudinal data makes them important for sophisticated biostatistical analysis.
3. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test for Paired Longitudinal Data:
This test is a nonparametric replacement for a paired t-test when comparing two time points and is particularly beneficial when data is not normally distributed.
Example:
Imagine you are reviewing patients' blood pressure statistics before and after a certain treatment. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test can help you evaluate if there’s an notable difference at the two time points. Utilizing python,
from scipy.stats import wilcoxon
# Sample data: blood pressure readings before and after treatment
before = [120, 125, 130, 115, 140]
after = [118, 122, 128, 113, 137]
# Perform the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test
stat, p_value = wilcoxon(before, after)
print(f"Wilcoxon Test Statistic: {stat}, P-Value: {p_value}")
Advantages of Nonparametric Tests
Flexibility: The nonparametric tests are more flexible than their parametric alternatives because the assumptions of data distribution is not required. This makes them perfect for the study of real-world data, which seldom requires assumptions needed by parametric methods.
Robustness to Outliers: Nonparametric tests utilize ranks in place of original data values, thereby increasing their resistance to the effect of outliers. This is important in biostatistics, since outliers (extreme values) can skew the results of parametric tests.
Handling Small Sample Sizes: Nonparametric tests typically work better for small sample sizes, a condition often found in medical studies, particularly in early clinical trials and pilot studies.

Biostatistics Assignment Help to Overcome Challenges in Nonparametric Methods
In spite of the advantages, many students find nonparametric methods hard to understand. An important problem is that these approaches commonly do not provide the sort of intuitive interpretation that parametric methods deliver. A t-test produces a difference in means, whereas nonparametric tests yield results based on rank differences, which can prove to be harder to conceptualize.
In addition, choosing between a nonparametric test and a parametric test can prove difficult, particularly when analyzing messy raw data. This decision regularly involves a profound grasp of the data as well as the underlying assumptions of numerous statistical tests. For beginners in the field, this may become too much to digest.
Availing biostatistics assignment help from an expert can prove to be a smart way to deal with these obstacles. Professionals can lead you through the details of hypothesis testing, inform you on selecting the right methods, and help you understand your results accurately.
Conclusion
Nonparametric hypothesis testing is a useful tool in longitudinal biostatistics for evaluating complex data that contradicts the assumptions of traditional parametric procedures. Understanding these strategies allows students to more successfully solve real-world research problems. However, because these methods are so complex, many students find it beneficial to seek professional biostatistics assignment help in order to overcome the complexities of the subject and ensure that they have a better comprehension of the subject matter and improve their problem-solving skills.

Jotaro Kujo is the biggest asshole on campus—well, to you he is. You don’t know what sparked it between you two but there was no possible chance for you two to get along whenever you were near each other. Which was quite often since you had to fulfill the same requirements he did for his major.
It was honestly quite childish but neither of you could just put whatever aside to get along. Whenever he saw you, he would mutter something under his breath or send a nasty glare your way. You would do the same back to him, pointing out whenever he messed up in class (which was a rare occasion). Sometimes the glares would turn into longing glances on both ends but nothing to really dwell on. It was always a back and forth, a tit for tat, just nonstop. It was even worse when you both got paired for a project, the name calling and the taunting in private escalated to new levels. But it was never anything to take to heart.
Today, you were sitting in your biostatistics class listening to your professor describe what was needed for your upcoming midterm, focusing as they went over what topics you should study and what the grading procedure was. The class was passing by pretty quickly and once you were dismissed you gathered your things and started making your way to the door. You walked out of the classroom and stopped on the side to find your phone to see if any of your friends were free to hang out while you had a break between classes. You were interrupted when you heard someone clear their throat. You looked up and saw green eyes glaring down at you. “Sorry Kujo, I don’t have the time to set up a private study session for you, not like you’d benefit from it anyway.” You fixed your bag over your shoulder and crossed your arms over your chest as he scoffed.
“What makes you think that I’d ever want help from you? And is there a change of plans for the test this time? Didn’t have enough room in your schedule to blow the dean?” You rolled your eyes at his words and sighed, he would often insult things like your intelligence or bring things up like this to try to get under your skin. “Or did he find someone younger and prettier to focus his time on? Is that what it is? He must have found a pretty little freshman and got tired of your loose holes. Too much cock will do that to you.” Your eyes widened at his words and you were taken aback. He never stooped this low before.
“You’re being a dick, Kujo.” You adjusted your bag again and he just raised an eyebrow, “It’s not my fault that you’re just not interesting to anyone anymore, tell you what. I’ll get you a paper bag and you can decorate it all pretty so when someone is desperate enough for some pussy, they can just cover your face and use you.” Tears brimmed your eyes as he spoke and you quickly blinked them away, “fuck you, Jotaro.” You pushed past him and made your way out of the building your class was in, the tears you were trying to hold back finally spilled out.
Jotaro, on the other hand, stood there and watched you leave. He walked out of the building and the only thing that filled his mind was how hurt you looked. He didn’t want to go that far but you were there and you were just at the right place, at the wrong time. He combed his fingers through his hair and cursed himself as he made his way to his next class. He knew he should have apologized because that’s not how his mother raised him but distance would probably be the best thing for you.
After the encounter with Jotaro, you made your way to one of the dorm halls and went straight to one of the rooms, knocking on the decorated door. “It’s me, please tell me you’re here.” The door quickly opened and you buried your face into the chest of the man who lived in the dorm room. “Noriaki, I hate him. I hate him so much, he’s such an asshole. I hate him, I hate him, I hate him.” Your words were muffled by his chest and Kakyoin wrapped his arms around you tighter. He kept you close to him as he walked with you inside of his dorm and shut the door behind you both. “Hey, what happened?” He led you to the couch in his room and helped you sit down, you moved back to lift your head from his chest and sniffled. “That bastard called me a slut and just kept digging more and more. He said I blew the dean for my grades and so many other things. I hate him.” You felt the tears brim your eyes again and he lifted his hand to wipe at your eyes. “Don’t cry anymore, I just want you to forget about him and today. How about we order some food and then you can stay here while we watch some of your favorite movies? It’ll help you get your mind off the day and I hope it’ll make you forget about what happened with him.” You nodded and leaned in to rest your head against him, while mumbling, “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Kakyoin had known you and Jotaro for years which meant that he also knew that you two couldn’t stand each other. He heard of all of the name calling, bickering, just all of it. He was the middle ground, always calming either one of you down after a heated encounter. He was honestly starting to get tired of hearing everything going on between you two, he knew that you two wouldn’t mend things on your own and he had to get involved in his own way. He could see right through everything and he knew that there was something lingering whenever you two went at each other’s throats. Neither one of you would admit it but he just had to get the ball rolling. That way he could also get his payment for being a therapist for the both of you.
As the days passed, Kakyoin was getting his plan ready for action. In a week everyone on his floor would be gone for an art gallery exhibit for some extra credit. He didn’t need to go because the professor he was an assistant for already excused him. Kakyoin had reached out to you and Jotaro, inviting you both over to hangout and spend the day together. It was something you both quickly agreed to because 1) finals were beyond stressful and 2) neither of you knew that the other would be coming. Ever since that day you and Jotaro avoided each other like the plague and deep down you both missed each other.
Finally the day came and Kakyoin was finishing with setting his dorm room up when you came and knocked on his door. He opened the door and let you in. “So, what do you have planned for today?” He wrapped an arm around you and led you to the couch, “I was thinking that we could just do something a little different today. We always order some food and watch movies until you fall asleep but I think we need a little change of pace.” You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up at him, you opened your mouth to question him but you were interrupted by Kakyoin’s door opening. There stood Jotaro and his cerulean eyes instantly found you.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Jotaro’s deep voice boomed through the room as he stepped in and shut the door behind him. “I could ask you the same thing, Kujo. But for the record, Noriaki invited me over.” You crossed your arms over your chest and glared at him, “he invited me over too.” He raised an eyebrow and both of your eyes went to the redhead with a wide smile on his face. Both of your expressions were the same, waiting for him to answer the questions that haven’t been asked. Kakyoin looked at you both and sighed, “I just think that this was the best way to get you two to talk things out like normal people. Just hear me out. You both have been avoiding each other and ever since you two met you’ve had this animosity towards each other for no reason. Jotaro crossed a line and he’s more than aware of that. You were hurt and I think that with some talking and action then you two could be civil.”
You looked at Kakyoin and then looked at Jotaro before sighing. He wasn’t wrong, you two haven’t even thought about talking things through or trying to figure out what caused a rift between you both. “Fine, but if he says something out of line then I’m leaving.” Kakyoin nodded before looking over at Jotaro who just nodded. The silent agreement was enough for Kakyoin to continue. The redhead moved behind you and placed his hands on your shoulders, gently rubbing them as he looked at the raven haired male. “Jotaro, I think you should apologize to her. What you said to her was beyond offensive, humiliating and just rude. Even you admitted to me that you crossed the line.”
Jotaro looked at his friend then looked at you, “I’m sorry.” He mumbled the words and you rolled your eyes, scoffing. Just as you opened your mouth to say something, Kakyoin beat you to the punch. “You call that an apology, Jotaro? You could be more heartfelt and honestly, I don’t think words are enough. Words are what got us into this mess in the first place, maybe some actions could help mend the wounds you caused her.” His hands moved along your shoulders and toyed with the thin straps of your dress before sliding his hands along your body, touching and caressing all of your curves. You were in shock to say the least, but Kakyoin’s hands felt so good. You couldn’t deny that Kakyoin was attractive and you have had unsavory thoughts about him, along with the dark haired male who watched his friends hands along your body. “Don’t you think she’s beautiful? But her body just feels so tense, I think the best way to apologize is to help her destress.” Jotaro licked his dry lips and watched how rough Kakyoin’s hands moved along your body, he heard the mewls and whimpers that escape your lips and he couldn’t help but groan.
Kakyoin leaned in close to your ear and you could hear the smirk grow along his lips, “tell Jotaro how he should apologize to you, tell him that he should make you cum over and over until you forget about all the harsh things he has said to you.” You couldn’t say something like that, especially to Jotaro, you hated his guts, right? But as you opened your mouth to say something, one of Kakyoin’s hands moved to your chest and started to grope your breasts and the other hand moved to lift the skirt of your dress to your hips. He moved one of his legs to kick your legs open to spread them for the man in front of you both. “Don’t you see how wet she is? She’s practically soaking through her panties and you’re just standing there. You could be touching her, indulging in her. But don’t you want more? You just need to let him know.” He continued to grope and caress your body and you looked at Jotaro with half lidded eyes. “Jotaro…please.”
Just with that, Jotaro moved from his position and took a few long strides to get closer to you. He moved one hand up and hesitated for a moment before placing it on your hip, he looked down at the wet spot on your panties then looked into your eyes before looking at Kakyoin. “What do you gain from all of this? This was a disagreement between two people, not the three of us. And why are you still touching her?” He raised an eyebrow and his grip on your hip tightened a little as Kakyoin’s hands slowed down. “I’ve been the middle man this whole time, making sure you two just stick with throwing verbal jabs at each other. I mean if I leave you two alone, who knows what could happen? Plus, it's not up to you. My dear, do you mind if I join in?” You turned your head to look at Kakyoin and nodded, “I want you with us, please Noriaki.” Kakyoin pulled you closer to him and started leading you to his bed, Jotaro following close behind.
Just as you three reached the foot of the bed, clothes were taken off and strewn all over the floor. Kakyoin got on the bed and leaned back against the headboard and ushered you to lean back against him, he put his arms around you and reached down to spread your legs. Jotaro got on the bed and leaned in between your legs. His cerulean eyes trailed along your pussy, seeing how wet you were for both of the men in the room. Jotaro licked his lips and leaned in close to lick up your slit. He groaned at the taste and placed his hands on your inner thighs as he started to lick and suck your cunt like it was his last meal. Your back arched and you brought one hand down to Jotaro’s hair, threading your fingers through the soft, dark strands as he dipped his tongue inside you.
Kakyoin moved one hand to your chin and tilted your head up to look at him. Moans and whines left your lips as you looked into his eyes. “You just look so pretty when he’s eating your pussy. The way your body moves and writhes is a sin that we are blessed enough to indulge in.” He leaned in close and pressed his lips against yours. Kissing you passionately as Jotaro loudly slurped and sucked on your pussy. Your legs started to quiver and shake around his head as he kept your thighs spread for him. Jotaro moved one hand up to rub your clit with his thumb and dipped his tongue in and out of your messy cunt. You had never felt this good before, none of your toys could bring you the pleasure that he’s bringing you now. You broke the kiss with Kakyoin and your chest started to rise and fall quickly.
“Gonna cum!” Kakyoin moved his hands to your breasts and started pulling on your nipples while he started to trail kisses along your neck and shoulder. “Cum, make a mess all over his face, pretty girl. Soak him in your juices until you can’t anymore. It’s what you deserve.” You arched your back and threw your head back against Kakyoin’s chest and cried out as your orgasm hit you. Your body trembled and Jotaro held your legs open as he drank all your juices, slurping even louder. He continued to drink you all in until Kakyoin moved one of his hands down to Jotaro’s forehead and started pushing him back. Jotaro looked at you both and your juices covered his lips and chin. “What happened?” Kakyoin chuckled and shook his head, “I want a taste too, stop being so greedy, Jotaro.”
Jotaro licked his lips and pulled back from you. Kakyoin gently moved you up from his chest and helped position you on all fours before moving behind you. Jotaro moved in front of your face and your eyes widened when you saw his cock. It was massive just like him, thick in all the right places and it looked so heavy. You were practically drooling at the sight and Jotaro wrapped his hand around it, stroking it a few times. “Let’s see if you can do more than just bitch and whine with this pretty mouth of yours.” You looked up at him and narrowed your eyes as Kakyoin’s hands moved along your ass, spreading you for him as he spit on your sensitive pussy. “Fuck you, Kujo.” He laughed and gripped the base of his cock, tapping it against your lips, “you will soon. Now open up.”
Kakyoin leaned in and started licking along your slit then wrapped his lips around your sensitive clit. Your mouth fell open and Jotaro took advantage of your open mouth and pushed his cock inside. Jotaro threw his head back and placed his hands on either side of your head as he started thrusting. He set a rough and hard pace, each time he thrusted his cock hit the back of your throat causing you to gag each time. He didn’t relent, no matter how many times you gagged it was just more pleasurable for him. Kakyoin held you open and ate you out with the same fervor as Jotaro. Your body trembled and you moaned around Jotaro’s cock, giving the raven haired male even more pleasure. “You taste so fucking sweet, I can’t get enough of your taste.” Kakyoin rasped out and continued to eat you out like a man starved. You were already sensitive from your first orgasm and you already started to feel the knot tighten in your stomach. Kakyoin moved his hand to your entrance and pushed two fingers inside you, curling them to press right against your g spot as he suckled on your clit.
You brought your hands up to Jotaro’s thick thighs and dug your nails into them as you reached your second orgasm of the day. Your body trembled violently and you cried out around Jotaro’s cock as you drenched Kakyoin’s face in your juices. Jotaro pulled out of your mouth and pumped his cock a few more times and thick ropes of his cum landed on your face. He grunted and his hand continued to move up and down his thick length. A few more ropes landed on your face and you opened your eyes to look at him, a smirk grew on your lips. “Wow, didn’t think you would cum quickly like a virgin, Kujo. Was that your first blowjob?” He grabbed a napkin and cleaned off some of his cum from your face and tossed it in the trash bin.
“Shut up, I’m not done yet.” He wasn’t wrong, his cock was still rock hard and bobbed as he moved off the bed. Kakyoin gave your pussy one last kiss then moved in front of your face. His cock was big but not as thick as Jotaro’s so it would give your jaw some relief for a moment. Jotaro gripped your hip with one hand and gripped his cock with the other then he slammed into you. You cried out his name out loudly and looked back to glare at him, “shut up, this was what you wanted.” He held your hips tightly and started drilling into you, if felt like his cock was splitting you in half in the best way possible. Moans and whines left your lips and you looked up at Kakyoin before sticking your tongue out for him.
“So pretty begging for cock like that. Fuck.” Kakyoin bit his lip and slowly pushed his cock into your mouth. You started sucking and you started bobbing your head up and down his length. He was much gentler than Jotaro, giving you time to get adjusted to his length. “Look at that, you’re such a good girl. Sucking so good like that, think you’re ready for more? For me to be a little rougher?” You nodded as best as you could and Kakyoin placed one hand on your head and started thrusting. He moved in sync with Jotaro, every time Jotaro slammed into you Kakyoin pulled his cock out only to the tip then when Jotaro only had the tip inside of you, Kakyoin buried himself down your throat.
You were beyond sensitive from all the orgasms and the way Jotaro hit all your sensitive spots was just driving you closer and closer to the edge. Jotaro’s hips continued to snap into yours as he fucked you relentlessly. Your eyes rolled back and you cried out around Kakyoin’s cock as your orgasm ripped through you. Jotaro held your hips tighter as he continued to snap his hips into yours almost animalistically. Kakyoin continued to thrust into your mouth and held your head in place as he started to cum, “don’t waste a drop. Swallow it all, pretty girl. Just swallow it all.” You greedily swallowed around his cock as he continued to pump his cum into you. Soon Jotaro followed, he pressed his hips against yours and started to fill you with hot, sticky ropes of cum. Kakyoin pulled out of your mouth and you dropped your head against the bed as Jotaro continued to fill you up.
Kakyoin got off the bed to grab water and grab a rag to clean you off with and Jotaro slowly pulled out of you and helped you rest against the bed completely. He laid beside you and pulled you closer to him. “, I just wanted to apologize for how I’ve been treating you. I crossed the line that day and that wasn’t called for, none of it was called for. I did a lot of fucked up things and said a lot of fucked up things, you didn’t deserve that.” Kakyoin walked over to you two with a wide grin on his face and handed the water bottle in his hand to you then started to wipe you down with the wet rag in his other hand.
“You’re welcome.” He spoke as he continued to wipe you down and both you and Jotaro looked at Kakyoin with furrowed eyebrows. “My plan, if I didn’t think this through then you two would still be on no speaking terms and I would be the one to try to convince you two separately to try to work it out or just get over it.” He shrugged and Jotaro shook his head, “I’m not too sure about that. I think we’ll need a few more sessions of this to really make sure everything is mended.” You smiled and nodded, “that I can agree with.”

Least favourite subject: Wood working... to avoid a fail, I asked the guy who had a crush on me to help me with my final project 🫣 I also hated organic chemistry in undergrad.
What’s your best character trait: I've been told I'm very caring and calming to be around! I had a friend describe me as a "human version of a spa" 💀
What’s your worst character trait? I cut people out of my life very easily. I think I should be more forgiving, but I just... can't get passed whatever slight was made to me/loved ones. I'm trying to be understanding and compassionate, but I also don't want you near me ever again lol.
If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be? I hope trump and his administration dies. In my immediate life? I'd like a higher salary.
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet? It is definitely a tie between Johann Sebastian Bach and Muzio Clementi!! They are my favourite composers. My piano exam repertoire for the Baroque and Classical periods were from their piano repertoire. I have so much fun playing them and would love to learn their thought processes.
I tag: @soprawrites @villainsrtasty @nail-art-no-jutsu @muzansfangs @snuggetfish @if-dreams-do-come-true and any others who want to do this too (also feel free to ignore if you don't wanna do this, no obligation at all!!)

Actually, that last post reminded me of a really important bit of advice I once received that not enough people know.
For math and the sciences? It doesn't matter what textbook you use. I mean, obviously, if your professor assigns you homework from textbook A, you need to have and read it to do your homework.
But if you're in chemistry, and the way your textbook explains Guy-Lussac's law to you makes no sense? Go to your local library and look for textbook B or C.
Science and math books for a given topic will all contain the same information, just explained in a different way. Every biology book in existence is going to tell you that all living things have nucleic acids made up of the bases cytosine, thymine or uracil, guanine, and adenine. Every chemistry book in existence is going to tell you that the noble gases are nonreactive because their outer electron shells are completely filled. Every physics textbook in existence is going to tell you that entropy arises as a result of the second law of thermodynamics and can never be reduced, only increased. You're going to get this information no matter what book you read- it's just that some will be far better at giving you this explanation in a way you understand than others.
ALSO, outside of textbooks, almost every concept (and especially every part of the math involved) will have tutorials on Youtube (and most likely Khan Academy). These saved my life in my biostatistics classes, and I wish I'd known about them when I was an undergrad, because as much as I excel with the conceptual parts of chemistry and physics, I struggled through the math, and knowing about these would have helped me a lot.
There are so many resources at your disposal- you can do this! Few peiople are going to breeze through it. Don't give up!

Terr(y)or
"You're a big boy! Yes you are! Yes you are!" "So big and scary!" Sometimes talking to the dogs made them calm down. Blue wasn't a dog, and he certainly wasn't a dog that calmed with a gentle tone. Still, it didn't hurt to try. "So tough!" He'd backed himself into a corner again. Ears were back, shoulders were up, tail was lashing, all his fur stood on end, he was even up on two legs. Unfortunately he was a dog in the way that they couldn't listen to those signs right now. Terry had a job, and their role was to enable the vet. "Dramatic little guy." Lashing had never been a more accurate verb for a tail. It struck with the violence of the lion tamer's whip and the abused fury of the lion. "It's okay. You're not going to be hurt." Gold reflected off silver. Terrified snarls bounced off the walls and down the hall. He ducked the catchpole noose and slammed headfirst into Orion. He hacked the cough of a man who just took over a hundred pounds directly to the lung. Pale teeth flashed behind the muzzle. Carl helped Orion to his feet. Sarah approached with a slip-lead and soothing words. "You're safe. Remember, you're safe. Why don't you show us you can be a good boy? Here, let-" She reached into her pocket for a treat. His snarl and stance deepened to a growl and four-legged crouch. Her hands flew up, open palmed, "Ope! Nevermind!" Kris' lead slipped over his head. Blue's shrieks cracked into something between a whimper and chitter. His head turned. It faded into a hiss. He leapt, legs out. Kris ducked. Blue struck the wall and stayed there. Freak out about that later. Right now grab a blanket. He launched himself at Kris. Sarah pounced. He screamed. "Agh- help!" Carl was right becide her, hands pinning Blue's legs. Orion approached with the hobbles. Kris knelt at his head, holding it while they worked. The hood was on first. He whispered calming words and stroked it. "It'll just be a moment. You won't even feel it. Then you'll get so many treats. You'll like that, huh?" Clacking teeth said he wasn't considering enjoying anything right then. When biting didn't work and his legs had been hobbled he quieted. Resistance lessened, replaced with an attempt to curl onto himself. There it was. He wasn't a dog, but he kept with the rule. "Sweetheart…" It was always, always defense. Something happened -or in Blue's case multiple somethings- and it left more than physical marks. Kris ran a hand down his scruff while the mittens were buckled behind him. They pulled the blanket wrap snug around him. Some people shouldn't have dogs because they were poor fits for them. Some people shouldn't own dogs because they were horrible people. Watching Blue silently twitch and hunch into himself, there was no question what kind of person had him before. "Oh no." Blue tensed at Terry's voice. They bit their lip. "Yeah, he wasn't having it." The hopefully-an-animal had been transported down the hall in a blanket carried between three people. "Blue, buddy boy. I just need to check how you're doing. I'm not going to torture you." He seemed to curl tighter at that. They set him on the table. Immediately he wriggled, finding a second wind. This was semi-expected. Terry clipped the table's tether to his collar and they began unwrapping. The kicks were especially dangerous, even when restricted by hobbles and aimed blind. They were tied down at the other end. There was some give between, but not enough for Blue to fully sit up. He groaned a whine. Terry stroked his head. Their attempts at verbal comfort would be counterproductive, it seemed. Instead, they got to work. First would be making sure the wounds were healing. After that, regular biostatistics gathering. Hopefully he'd calm by the time they got to that. The whole reason he wasn't sedated was to get his normal vitals.

HELLO! not so late for once but my brain is fried all the same... because three hours of biostatistics, Mycroft or Sherlock Holmes come save me I BEG YOU.
Let's see what Watson tells today to lift my weary heart.
He starts a bit abruptly... are you perhaps cross with you Holmes, doc?
Tumblr media
Well, watson, you're being deliberately obtuse. Of course Holmes prefers the homemade article. He can wash your hair and cuddle you! It would be great! Why have you gone at the turkish baths?
Tumblr media
Nu, poor Watson! Holmes would CERTAINLY be glad to give you a massage! Ah and now you start flirting! The baths DID restore our doc! They still play their old 'deducing watson's day' game! And Holmes LOVES it!
Holmes plays his game, probably snuggles on Watson and then drops the bomb
Tumblr media
Watson, like every husband, is justifiably suspicious. It sounds... weird and too much out of the blue... what's your second end, Holmes?
Tumblr media
Very long preamble and Watson being snarky. This sounds good. (Watson DESERVES to be a bit passive aggressive! Exp after being SHOT in the last case) But he immediately gets in the mindset! The lady has one correspondent and Watson asks the right question!
Tumblr media
And what Holmes says in very cool, honestly. But i'm worried as well for this lady. She pays a bill in Lausanne and then draws a check?
Tumblr media
Holmes answers and then drops the OTHER bomb. You shall be the one to go, my Watson! (said with the biggest shit eating grin in history)
Tumblr media
Oh, but he has his excuses (quite meeh, but... well, i can see at least ONE good excuse.). And he will miss you so much, dear Watson, please, please write.
And so it came to pass that Watson kissed his husband goodbye, hopped on a train and few days later he's in Lausanne, takes his notes...
Tumblr media
and feels very proud. Watson remember what happened last time. He discovers something in Lausanne and then off to Baden! And to more interesting data!
Tumblr media
UHM. I don't like this guy
Tumblr media
I like him EVEN LESS NOW.
Tumblr media
Ah, and this fellow comes up again! Also Watson going 'and i did just as my husband' and being very proud is so sweet!
And then of course he writes to his Holmes, they miss each other so badly
Tumblr media
Excuse me while i bang my head on the wall.
WATSON! YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER! HOLMES NEVER JESTS ABOUT CASES AND THIS IS A CASE!
You SHOULD have known better, my Watson. Now off to talk to the maid. After all the fair sex is your departme- HEY! HE'S STILL HERE?
Tumblr media
Watson, sweety, respectfully. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING NOW? picking fights?? Hot headed rugby player INDEED.
Tumblr media
Oh jesus christ above. WATSON! Well, that guy aimed at the throat JUST SEEING that had he aimed EVERYWHERE ELSE you would've been able to fuck him up. LUCKILY your husband was there to help you.
Now you two go back home, and have a talk. Holmes you owe Watson a PROPER vacation.

I’ve been thinking about something
I see and hear of so many guys who comment the most misogynistic and/or disgusting things, or defend said things on Instagram and other social media (e.g., violence on women), but then pretend to be decent irl. I’ve known a few like this personally, and was baffled at what I saw when Instagram started showing you the comments on other posts made by people you follow. Also the posts they like
It was from this, I found out that an old friend of mine is a transphobe and is “anti-woke” (and we have a very short history of dating and I never knew he believed those things). I did reply to one of his comments to express to him how disappointed I was in him. No reply surprisingly, considering how vocal he’s been about his hate on random people’s posts
And a male cousin of mine who follows misogynists and follows particularly this one lady who makes content that attracts such men (honestly I shouldn’t be surprised. The depravity on that side of the family is so bad, that they laugh at my uncle who’s getting physically abused by his wife. He’s a victim of both domestic abuse and alcohol addiction, and they refuse to do anything to help him. His second older brother even told him he should just die. We try to stay in contact with him but he’s at the point now where he wants to give up so getting the chance to speak to him doesn’t happen often. The first chance I get, I’m cutting contact with the whole fam, except him if he’s still alive by then)
Then found out my ex was MAGA the whole time, while he pretended to be normal with me. I guess he could only keep up the act for so long which is probably why he started avoiding conversation with me and then ghosted me for 3 months only to come back like “hey”, like nothing happened, and complain to me that he feels so lonely as if I’ll feel bad for him and get back with him. Nah bro, I’ve seen your true colors.
Like, they can be so good at pretending, you don’t know they believe that stuff until they reveal it to you, or you check the social media apps on their phone when they’re not looking (I never done that but I’m considering it in the future)
And to think that many of them are potentially able to trap women into abusive relationships
Apparently there may be a limit to how many people I can block on Instagram. As someone who still hopes to date but honestly hasn’t been feeling safe to do so, I was thinking it would nice to have a tool to filter out guys like this
What if someone made a list of all the usernames/names of these guys and use it as a screening tool to avoid them? Then shared that list to other women discreetly? Think about searching your guy’s username on this list then finding him and the rationale as to why he’s on the list
I can probably make it. I’ve dealt with a massive dataset before for a biostatistics project
Just a thought though; for peace of mind.

Anyway, I have one more week of the semester and one day for a biostatistics final, and then I have a week break before the next semester :0
In that week I will hopefully answer all the asks and rewatch beastars cuz I HAVENT SEEN SEASON 3 IM EXCITED EVEN IF ITS OLD NEWS
Also, hopefully, i'll be able to make a masterlist if Google helps me. I've also been considering maybe making a side blog as a digital journal sooo lmk if yall would be interested in that, I'll make a poll if I can soon on everything in this post, lol
Also, if you message me, my bad if I don't answer. I'm horribly awkward ;_; I appreciate it all and not bothered by it, but I just don't be responding

okay yes it's me hiya here's a chapter
Percy didn’t mean to bump into him.
He was trying to cram for the test on biostatistics, frantically trying to review his notes, holding a coffee in one hand and flipping through his notes in another. “Sample size…analysis plan summary…gods, I should have studied more.” The letters blurred together as he walked toward the building, and he squinted as he tried to make sense of them. His head hurt from the fall heat and the lettering.
Then he bumped into the redhead. It happened so suddenly, he wasn’t aware that it had happened. Not until he saw his notes splashed with coffee, and this guy rubbing his head with his skateboard rolling away, and his backpack spilled open. Percy grabbed his notebook in an instant and tried to wipe off most of the coffee. The page he had been studying was completely drenched in latte, and the redhead winced as he tried to get up. The ink had smeared away a little.
Percy turned on him. “Watch where you’re going, for the gods’ sake! You could have hurt someone!” The redhead looked up and gave him a glare that said, Are you trying to start a fight here? Then the skater spoke.  “Well, maybe you wouldn’t have knocked into me if you were watching where you’re going. Look right in front of you, I would have guaranteed you’d have seen some guy, on a goddamned skateboard, right in front of you, and you would have been just fine.”  He stood up and brushed himself off. Percy couldn't help but notice he had a slight accent, and the weird hoodie and whatnot, but more importantly, he was focused on making this guy lose the argument. “Ah, crap, not the sketchbooks…” the guy muttered as he ran around trying to pick up everything that had spilled from his bag. Wanting to win an argument was a little unlike Percy, who seemed to not care about any discourse that came his way, but he was too worried and upset to think clearly. “Hey! I’m talking to you. You ruined my notes…”
He trailed off as he watched the redhead frantically gather his pens and pencils as they rolled away over the concrete. Percy decided that well, even if he had bumped into him and ruined his notes, he should at least try to make amends. He helped gather the sketchbooks and handed it to him. “Your sketchbooks…I’m Percy.” He opted for a grin as he handed the redhead the sketchbooks. “And you’re…?”
The guy took the sketchbooks and gave him a wary glare. Percy couldn’t blame him; his mood had changed so fast it could have made your head spin. Finally, the skater sighed and said, “Reki. Reki Kyan. Listen, I’m sorry about your notes, and it’s my fault I bumped into you.”
Percy waved it off. “It’s kinda my fault too, I wasn’t looking.” He smiled sheepishly. Reki smiled a bit. “What if…I bought you lunch?” Then he realized how it sounded. He flustered. “Not like that! Just…as a way to make it up to you.” He shifted the collar of his hoodie, and Percy noticed that there was a bisexual pin on there. Interesting. Then he realized he was expected to respond. “Oh, yeah, that’s nice of you. Thanks.” He stood up as Reki did too. “Nice to meet you, Reki.” He held out his hand. Reki shook it. “You too…Percy.” He grabbed his board, and walked off. Percy couldn’t help but smile, feeling like he’d found another person he could become friends with. He grabbed the notebook and ran as fast as he could toward the building as the bell rang. The book was still dripping in latte, and smeared.
